EasyTAG is an utility for viewing, editing and writing the ID3 tags of different audio files, using a GTK+ interface.

Currently EasyTAG supports the following:

Entagged is a audiofile tagger, using the freedb online database for the retrieval of the tags. It supports custom file renaming from tags (with any directory stucture) and vice versa. Supports: mp3, ogg, flac, mpc, ape, wma.

gmusicbrowser es un potente navegador gráfico que permite usar bibliotecas con un gran número de canciones (>10.000)

Puede utilizar múltiples entradas y reproducir archivos en formato MP3, OGG y FLAC; también permite renombrar y etiquetar en masa los elementos de una biblioteca musical, varios géneros por canción, puntuaciones y personalizar etiquetas

También puede personalizar el diseño y contenido de las ventanas e incorpora complementos nativos para utilizar last.fm, obtener letras, buscar portadas de discos y «Contexto», el cual muestra la página del artista en wikipedia y busca letras en google utilizando el motor mozilla/webkit.

Herramienta usada para renombrar archivos mpeg3 leyendo las etiquetas ID3 al final del archivo, que contienen el nombre de la canción, el artista, el álbum, el año y un comentario.

La función secundaria de id3ren es ser un etiquetador, que puede crear, modificar o eliminar etiquetas ID3. Los campos ID3 se pueden asignar en la línea de órdenes, interactivamente o «adivinándolos» a partir de la ruta y el nombre del archivo.

lltag is a command-line tool manipulating MP3 ID3, OGG or FLAC tags. It may be used to tag multiples files at once by comparing their filename or pathname against a configurable list of formats, or by getting tags from the CDDB database.

lltag may also rename files according to a configurable filename format. The interface has been designed to be as automatic, efficient and smart as possible.

Mp3rename is a small tool to rename all those badly named mp3 files.

The generated file name can be based on the id3tags; title, album, year, track and/or artist.

mpgtx is a tool to manipulate MPEG files. Its features include the following:

• mpgtx can currently split and join MPEG 1 video files and most MPEG audio files.
• mpgtx can fetch detailed information from MPEG 1 and MPEG 2.
• mpgtx can demultiplex MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 files (System layer, Program layer and Transport Layer).
• mpgtx can add, remove and edit ID3 tags from mp3 files and rename mp3 files according to their ID3 tags. It reads and writes ID3v1, but only reads ID3v2.

Picard is the next generation MusicBrainz tagging application.

This new tagging concept is album oriented, as opposed to track oriented like the others taggers are.

Audio Tag Tool is a program to manage the information fields in MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files (commonly called tags). Tag Tool can be used to edit tags one by one, but the most useful features are mass tag and mass rename. These are designed to tag or rename hundreds of files at once, in any desired format.

FLAC («Free Lossless Audio Codec»), es un códec libre de audio sin pérdida. Simplificándolo, FLAC es similar a MP3, pero sin pérdida. El proyecto de FLAC consiste en:

• El formato del flujo.
• libFLAC, que implementa un codificador de referencia, un decodificador de flujos y un decodificador de archivos.
• flac, que es un contenedor de línea de órdenes sobre libFLAC que codifica y decodifica archivos .flac.
• Complementos para varios reproductores de música (Winamp, XMMS y más en proceso).

Este paquete contiene las herramientas de línea de órdenes flac (usadas para codificar y decodificar FLAC) y metaflac (usada para manipular los metadatos de FLAC).

vorbis-tools contiene oggenc (un codificador), ogg123 (una herramienta de reproducción), ogginfo (muestra información de ogg), oggdec (decodifica archivos en ogg), vcut (divide archivos en ogg), y vorbiscomment (editor de comentarios de ogg).

ogg123 puede reproducir flujos de audio tanto Ogg Vorbis como FLAC.
